What is resume integrity screening?

How is resume integrity screening different from keyword matching or a background check?

Direct answer

Resume integrity screening is a structured first pass on the resume file before interviews or client submittal. It asks two questions: do the career facts hold together (fabrication), and how was the document produced (polish)? It is not keyword matching, not a fit-ranking model, and not a background check. ResumeGuard runs that process in the browser or via POST /api/analyses.

Fabrication vs polish

Fabrication is whether employers, dates, titles, and credentials check out. Polish is how the document was produced. An edited resume can be a real career; a clean file can still list invented facts. Score them separately so you do not treat polish as fraud, or a tidy PDF as proof. For what invented or unverifiable career fact looks like, see resume fraud detection.

Where it sits in the funnel

Integrity screening belongs at application or before a phone screen — seconds, not days. Staffing desks run it before client submittal; in-house TA runs it before interviewer time is booked; an ATS can call the same API at upload (POST /api/analyses, then poll GET or ?wait=1). Later employment verification and background checks stay where they are today. A flagged report is a review queue, not an automatic reject.

FAQ

Common questions

Is resume integrity screening the same as resume fraud detection?

Integrity screening is the process — a first pass that separates fabrication from polish. Resume fraud is the invented or unverifiable career fact that process is looking for. See resume fraud detection.

Where does this sit versus a background check?

Before interviews. Background checks and employment verification with a past employer are later, usually consent-based steps. ResumeGuard does not replace them.

How do I try it?

One free browser check at /analyze, then pay-as-you-go or the Staffing plan at $99/month with 250 checks included. See /pricing.
