FAQ

For staffing, TA, and ATS teams

Who should use ResumeGuard?

Staffing agencies screening contractor and perm resumes, in-house recruiting and talent-acquisition teams, and developers integrating resume fraud detection into an ATS or HRIS. If you need a fast first-pass integrity check before interviews, ResumeGuard fits. It complements later verification your process already runs; it does not replace employment verification or legal compliance programs.

What does an analysis actually check?

Every upload runs through ten scoring dimensions: timeline gaps, career-path plausibility, technology anachronisms, employer and credential signals, a scholarly or publication check when papers are claimed, AI-polished writing, template placeholders, and more. You get composite, fabrication, and polish risk scores, evidence-backed flags, and interview questions — not a single opaque number.

How does pricing work?

Try one full analysis free on the site. After that, pay as you go from $1.00 per check down to $0.35 at volume, or start the Staffing plan at $99/month with 250 checks included. After those 250, overage is $0.50 through 500 total checks that month and $0.35 after 500. No annual contract. Add billing in the dashboard, generate an API key, and start production screening.

Can I integrate this into my existing hiring stack?

Yes. ResumeGuard is API-first: upload a PDF or DOCX via REST, receive structured JSON with dimension scores and flags. Drop it into your ATS, internal tools, or batch screening pipeline. See the API docs for authentication, rate limits, and example responses.

How is candidate data handled?

We retain screening reports and structured résumé information in your account — scores, flags, and facts extracted during analysis. We do not keep the original uploaded file after processing. Full document text is sent to AI providers only for the analysis request. Choose how long we keep reports under Data retention in your dashboard (30–365 days, or until you delete), or use Remove history to remove everything. See our Privacy Policy for security and deletion details.

How does the Staffing monthly plan work at volume?

The Staffing plan on /pricing is $99/month with 250 resume checks included. After those 250, overage is $0.50 through 500 total checks that month and $0.35 after 500. No annual contract. Pay-as-you-go from $0.35–$1.00 per check remains available if you do not want a monthly plan. See PAYG vs Staffing and the staffing page.

How do I call the API from our ATS or HRIS?

POST a resume file to /api/analyses with a Bearer API key and persist the JSON scores and flags on the candidate record. Any ATS or HRIS that can send HTTPS can do this — including stacks built around Bullhorn, Greenhouse, Lever, Workday, or iCIMS. There are no certified marketplace apps and no analysis webhooks today — poll GET /api/analyses/{id} or use ?wait=1. Start with /ats-implementation, /docs, and /integrations.

Is the first scan really free?

Yes. One full 10-dimension analysis in the browser at /analyze — no credit card and no account. After that, create an account, add a payment method, and keep screening from the dashboard or the API.

Is resume verification the same as a background check?

No. ResumeGuard is a pre-interview integrity screen of the document and public facts. A background check is usually later, consent-based, and covers different records. They complement each other. See resume verification vs background check.

What is resume integrity screening, and do you verify employers?

Resume integrity screening is the pre-interview process that separates fabrication from polish. Employer verification here means a public-web or registry lookup of listed company names — not a background check and not regulated employment verification. The free scan is at /fake-resume-checker (runs on /analyze).

How fast is an analysis, and what files can I upload?

Typical turnaround is under 10 seconds. ResumeGuard accepts PDF, DOCX, and image files (JPG or PNG). See how it works for the 10 dimensions and evidence flags.

Do you have native Bullhorn, Greenhouse, or Workday apps?

No. ResumeGuard is API-first. Teams already using those systems — or Lever or iCIMS — call POST /api/analyses from their own backend or middleware. We do not claim certified connectors.
