What is being scored
ResumeGuard scores the resume: timeline, employers, credentials, writing patterns, and document provenance — with fabrication risk separated from polish risk. Tofu’s public pages emphasize applicant identity, device/IP, cross-customer network matches, and interview deepfakes in addition to resume signals. Those are different jobs. If you need a citeable resume-integrity report for recruiters, ResumeGuard is built for that. If you need device fingerprinting or live-interview deepfake monitoring, Tofu’s marketing describes those capabilities; we cannot verify depth from public docs alone.
Evidence-backed dimensions vs a risk score
ResumeGuard returns ten dimension scores and evidence flags. Tofu describes “a simple risk score and detailed fraud reasons payload.” We could not find a public sample payload or dimension list equivalent to ResumeGuard’s published example response.
Public API and OpenAPI
Tofu states it has a Fraud API and that teams can connect via API, ATS integration, or Chrome extension. ResumeGuard publishes the full OpenAPI spec and example JSON without a sales call. We could not locate a public Tofu OpenAPI URL.
Pricing you can start without a contract
ResumeGuard is $0.35–$1.00 per resume, no annual contract. Tofu does not publish per-resume or monthly prices on the pages we reviewed. Treat Tofu as sales-led until they post a public price list.
Free browser check and typical resume turnaround
ResumeGuard lets you try a full analysis in the browser in under 10 seconds. Tofu’s public CTAs are “Get started.” We could not verify a no-credit-card browser check. Tofu’s API latency claim (<200ms) is faster than ResumeGuard’s full resume analysis — that figure is for their fraud API, not a like-for-like 10-dimension resume report.
Tofu may be the better fit when the requirement is platform-wide applicant identity and interview fraud, not a transparent resume-scoring API. We are not claiming Tofu lacks an API — they advertise one — only that pricing, OpenAPI, and a free self-serve resume check were not verifiable from public pages.
